Alternate I

The work includes the final design and permitting for construction of repairs to the existing sailboat dock, water and electrical utility services, and incidental related work. When systems are specified, this entails the entirety of the components to provide a fully function assembly. All offerors are cautioned that the construction team is expected to spend an adequate amount of time at the facility prior to proposal submittal to fully assess the existing conditions to ensure that appropriate construction methods can be used to replicate the existing features in the proposed work. The Contractor shall refer to Appendices D and E for design requirements and minimum performance standards.

Demolish selected sections of the existing dock, all pier fingers, dock gangways and selected pilings as shown on the construction documents • Demolish entire potable water and electrical services, including existing utility dock pedestals.

NEW WORK: a. BID ALTERNATIVE 1 (REPAIR): • The Contractor shall design, permit, and construct the repair of the dock sections as indicated on the construction drawings to match up to the existing dock sections to remain. Work will include new dock sections and fingers, pilings and (4) new dock gangways from parking to dock.

Alternate II

BID ALTERNATIVE 2 (DEMO & REBUILD): • Demolish the existing dock, pier fingers, dock gangways and pilings as shown on the construction documents. • Demolish entire potable water service, including existing utility dock pedestals,

NEW WORK: a. BID ALTERNATIVE 2 (DEMO & REBUILD): 

The Contractor shall design, permit, and construct a new fixed dock, including pilings as indicated on the construction drawings. Work will include installing new floating dock fingers with support pilings and aluminum gangways, and (4) aluminum land to dock gangways (with concrete dead-man as support). • Install, test and disinfect a new potable water service back to FGUA valve as shown on the drawings. Work will include installing new boat utility pedestals.

Alternate III

BID ALTERNATIVE 3 (DEMO & NEW DOCK): • Demolish the existing dock, pier fingers, dock gangways and pilings as shown on the construction documents. • Demolish entire potable water service, including existing utility dock pedestals.

NEW WORK: a. BID ALTERNATIVE 3 (DEMO & NEW DOCK): • The Contractor shall design, permit, and construct a new floating dock system to be installed with 14” square pre-stressed concrete pilings. Floating dock system will include floating dock fingers that are integrated so the fingers cantilever out from main dock section without additional pilings. Additionally, 10” square pre-stressed piling shall be installed between dock fingers for boat securing, and (4) aluminum land to dock gangways (with concrete dead-man as support).

Install, test, and disinfect a new potable water service back to FGUA valve as shown on the drawings. Work will include installing new boat utility pedestals.
